Get to know me!
Hi! I’m Ben and I’m a rising third-year advertising student at the University of Georgia. Along with my advertising major, I am pursuing a minor in theatre. I pride myself in my attention to detail, organization, and dedication to doing what I love. Being true to myself has always been a top priority for me, and I hope to keep that mentality as I go through life. With a passion for all things arts & media, I hope to combine my experience in theatre and digital media to build a meaningful career in the theatre realm.
In August of 2025, I started working as a Publicity Assistant for the UGA Department of Theatre and Film—where I have gained inimitable experience as a photographer, designer, and person.

I have been lucky enough to be able to take production photos alongside my boss at the final dress rehearsal for each UGA Theatre production since I began working with the department in 2025. This experienced opened my eyes to a whole new side of theatre that I have never experienced. I am practically addicted to getting the right angle, capturing the captivating facial expressions of the performers, and bringing the design team’s vision for the show to life. It is so much fun.
-
Through both my advertising curriculum and my work with UGA Theatre, I have become very familiar with the Adobe Creative Suite. I have designed posters, brochures, theatre programs, and even a postcard. As an avid Canva user in high school, the Adobe Suite opened my eyes to things I didn’t even know were possible.
-
The way I see it, what is the point in learning all of these skills if I am not learning how to be a good person while doing so? Between class group projects, stage managing theatre productions, and living in shared space, my time at UGA has taught me more about respect and communication than any other life experience has. Not to mention, the office I work in is a revolving door of people coming in to vent, tell us a fascinating story, or talk about the newest movie release. While I am at UGA to get an education, the people that I have gotten the chance to know and love have truly made a lasting impact.
It is so often that I get the “Why advertising?” facial expression (or even sometimes the actual question) when I tell people my major. For me it’s a no brainer…I am not in this industry to exploit people of their money or “trick” them into buying a product. I’m in it to show the magic of live entertainment and convince people to get to the theatre, whether its their first time or their hundredth. There is so much magic in the world of theatre, and I am honored to be able to help capture and preserve it.
